Introduction

The scope of this privacy notice covers all data subjects whose personal data is collected, in line with the requirements of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). This notice governs the handling of personal data by Thrive Youth Work where the information has been supplied by the data subject for the purposes of undertaking duties. This privacy notice will be published on our website and will be reviewed regularly. This policy covers:

What we collect and why

  • We collect your personal details to allow us to work with young people safely and to protect their wellbeing.

  • We collect contact information so that the relevant adult may be contacted in the event of an incident, injury or emergency.

  • We collect personal details such as address, name and date of birth so that the young person can be identified if required

  • We collect medical information so that we can protect the wellbeing of the child

 

What if I do not want to provide the information asked for?

You do not have to provide us with any personal data you do not want to. However, failure to provide data that we need to carry out our duties will mean that we won't be able to provide you with services you have requested.

 

How long will we keep your information?

  • We will only keep information for as long as necessary

  • Some personal information may be retained indefinitely to ensure compliance with our legal safeguarding requirements.

 

Sharing information

  • Information might be shared with individuals, organisations or other such recipients where it is necessary to share data to discharge our obligations.

 

Where we keep this information?

Information that we store is kept in the following ways:

  • The minimum required next of kin and medical details are kept in the Thrive Youth Work Microsoft Teams and accessed by Thrive leaders to protect the wellbeing of a young person.

  • Full contact information, including registration forms and parental permissions, are held by the Thrive Project Lead on the Thrive Youth Work Microsoft Teams, and are only accessed by Thrive staff members.

  • Safeguarding records are held securely on the Thrive Youth Work Microsoft Teams, and are only accessible to the Thrive Project Lead.

 

Complaints

In the event that you wish to make a complaint about how your personal data is being processed by Thrive Youth Work, or how your complaint has been handled, you have the right to lodge a complaint directly with the Information Commissioner's Office and the Thrive Project Lead (Ruth Hunt – ruth@thriveyouthwork.com)
